High Mileage Oil Changes

What is the difference between conventional and "high mileage" oil changes?  It has to do with the type of oil used.  In conventional oil changes, oil derived from petroleum is used, where as in high mileage oil changes, synthetic oil is used.  Synthetic oil has advantages like reducing friction and wear, and chemicals that can increase resistance to viscosity breakdown.

What does this mean for you?  It means that it keeps the oil flowing easier in cold temperatures, has less breakdown in high temperatures, uses less energy by decreasing engine friction, and lasts longer than conventional oil.

When does your vehicle need to make the switch?  The recommended mileage is 75,000 when synthetic oil can slow the aging process and extend the life of your vehicle's engine.
